BANKRUPTCY LAWS
The U.S. Senate passed legislation yesterday that makes it tougher for people to file for bankruptcy protection, a change pushed by business interests. The bill still lets Florida homeowners facing bankruptcy shield the value of their home from creditors, but it tightens the rules on how that shielding works.
