Change to the passport requirement for canadian snowbird in the US.

A new security law which went in effect Tuesday 23 January 2007 which requires canadian flying to and from the US to carry a passport has been changed to allow canadian already in the US during the winter to return in Canada without a passport.

This US passport law from the Homeland Security department will increase efficiency and speed at the border for canadian spending time South this winter. Canadians traveling to the US were only required to carry documents such as birth certificate or a driver's license for identity purpose.

Canadians are among the largest group of snow birds in the Tampa Bay during the winter months.
